In 2000, Kristian Butorac founded the company Ice-LanD - Localization, Design and Music in Munich, Germany.

In July 2001, the company was entered in the German register of companies and and since then operated under the name Ice-LanD e.K. until June 2025. In September of the same year the publishing company Ice-LanD Music was set up as an independent division. This division focuses on the production and publication of top-class contemporary scores.

Under the Edition Butorac brand Ice-LanD Music publishes sheet music editions that are distinguished by their outstanding quality, both musically and in terms of printing technology.

Responsibility for publisher-direct sales in Germany, Austria and Switzerland was transferred to ancora Verlagsservice in August 2005.

In Australia and New Zealand our publications have been marketed and supplied by Music Knowledge Pty Ltd, Melbourne, since January 2008.

In October 2018, ancora Verlagsservice GmbH & Co. KG took over the worldwide exclusive delivery of publications from Ice-LanD Music.

In July 2025, the headquarters of Ice-LanD Music were relocated from Munich to Ivanić-Grad in Croatia.
